Spaciousness

Spaciousness , I love saying that word - and up until perhaps 5 years ago I can’t recall even having it as a spoken reference point to frame my inner cravings for more time, ease and fulfilment. I just knew that my constant state of doing was not working for me, but against me. In fact, I didn’t just know - I felt it.

And then 2020 happened and amidst the trauma of it all, an opportunity to slow right down and sit with myself. A chance to reimagine how I truly wanted to exist and show up in the world and the time to figure out how de ass to make it happen!

Cue the creation of vision boards, walking meditations, morning pages, revisiting long abandoned art therapy techniques, reading of books in my ‘one day’ collection, consistent somatic movement sessions (which most times looked like wukking up to soca) and yes CBD and CBT too. I had time y’all - such a gift!

And from those months of inner reflection (some of which were really hard), I grew to understand that by welcoming and intentionally creating more spaciousness in my life, that I in fact expanded my capacity for joy, ease and fulfilment.

Flash forward to now, my island dwelling life. A life which I whole heartedly love and appreciate. A life which I am still creating every day, but now with much more thoughtful intention and a lil more courage too. I am still practicing the cultivation of spaciousness as for me it’s all a practice - there is no moment when your wellness toolkit is perfectly formed - perfection is after all a myth.

Spaciousness for me means that I am better at being present, better at inviting in the abundance of life, embracing each moment with open arms and an open heart. In the dance of spaciousness, I have discovered the infinite possibility that resides within me. And even when the world (and my little corner of it) feels like a dumpster fire I am still able (somehow) to tap into gratitude for my here and now and the gift of what is to come.

If you find yourself craving more time, less doing and more being - then get in touch. I would love to help x
